Have You Owned Your Ebike?

What we are facing

Our environments have suffered much, and this is a critical time in human history where global warming and climate change are the biggest crisis. To contribute our parts in protecting nature and taking care of our health, we should rely more on bikes and other greenways to travel. Thus, spreading a healthy and eco-friendly lifestyle is our utmost mission. We can go to us to find the best bikes to ride to work and explore your cities.

Cost of living may encourage many to get an e-bike

A YouGov poll of over 15,500 people across 12 European countries has found that the cost of living is now seen as the foremost motivation for e-bike usage. The survey, carried out for Shimano’s annual State of the Nation report, found that 47 per cent of people see living costs as the primary motivating factor for e-bike use. The second most common answer was purchase subsidies (41%).

The picture is even more stark in the UK where 56 per cent of people pointed to the cost of living as the most likely reason they would get an e-bike. Pertinently, in France – where grants of up to €4,000 are available to people who trade in their car for an e-bike – 60 per cent of respondents pointed to subsidies.

What is E-bike

An electric bicycle (e-bike, eBike, etc.) is a motorized bicycle with an integrated electric motor used to assist propulsion. Many kinds of e-bikes are available worldwide, but they generally fall into two broad categories: bikes that assist the rider's pedal-power (i.e. pedelecs) and bikes that add a throttle, integrating moped-style functionality. Both retain the ability to be pedaled by the rider and are therefore not electric motorcycles. E-bikes use rechargeable batteries and typically are motor-powered up to 25 to 32 km/h (16 to 20 mph). High-powered varieties can often travel more than 45 km/h (28 mph).

E-bike use is growing in some markets, as they are seen as an eco-friendly and healthy alternative to cars, fossil fuel-powered mopeds and small motorcycles, and a less physically intense alternative to conventional bicycles.

Depending on local laws, many e-bikes (e.g., pedelecs) are legally classified as bicycles rather than mopeds or motorcycles. This exempts them from the more stringent laws regarding the certification and operation of more powerful two-wheelers which are often classed as electric motorcycles, such as licensing and mandatory safety equipment. E-bikes can also be defined separately and treated under distinct electric bicycle laws. In UK legislation the vehicles are called electrically assisted pedal cycles (EAPC), in EU legislation electrically power assisted cycles (EPAC).
